PEF extends New School Program for deserving students

Faisalabad, The fifth phase of New School Program has been initiated by Punjab Education Foundation (PEF) and needy students of nine districts would be facilitated by providing quality of education under this scheme, a PEF spokesperson said.  

 

As many as 125 schools are linked under this scheme and these are located in Faisalabad, Bahawalpur, Vehari, Bahawalnagar, Dera Ghazi Khan, Lodhran, Khanewal, Bhakkar and Rahim Yar Khan. More than 11,000 would be facilitated from the extension of this scheme and they could get free education till matriculation. Currently more than 79,000 children from 392 schools all around the province are getting education under this program and the ratio of partner schools would be increased to 517 and the number of students would be increased to 85,000 after the extension.

 

“This program aims to facilitate students belong to remote areas by providing them opportunity of getting free education,” PEF spokesperson said. 

 

Meanwhile, the up-gradation of Government Cooperative Training College will be made by district government. In this way the cost of the project would be Rs175 million and basic facilities would be provided for the construction of college. The building of college would be enhanced under this project. The college would be equipped with all basic amenities. The building of the college would also be upgraded under the project.

BISE Federal Board Islamabad FBISE HSSC Part 1 Result 2014 announced

Islamabad, The Federal Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (FBISE) has published the HSSC Part 1 result 2014 of annual exams. The HSSC Part 1 result has been published today at 10 a.m. The examinations were commenced in April and May and now the board has announced the result. Medical Entrance Test MCAT to be organized on Aug 31

Rawalpindi, The MCAT entrance test for admission to medical and dental institutions is scheduled to be organized on August 31. Soon the MCAT Date Sheet 2014 will be declared and get all the details at ilmkidunya. 

 

At District Coordinator Officer (DCO) office, a meeting was organized to settle all the arrangements for entrance test.

 

The meeting was chaired by ADC (G) Imran Qureshi and some renowned personalities to manage the arrangements of  the Medical entrance test. The meeting was attended by Sr. Administrator Officer Aqil Ahmed Khan, City Traffic Officer (CTO) Shoaib Khurram, Secretary Regional Transport Authority (RTA) Awais Tarar, Executive District Officer (EDO) Health Zafar Iqbal Gondal, Director Colleges Humayun Iqbal, Resident Director Rawalpindi Arts Council Waqar Ahmed, EDO Education Qazi Zahoor- ul- Haq and other concerned officers. 

 

 

In the meeting the arrangements of traffic security parking and other related measures were discussed. Over 6500 candidates are expected to appear in the entry test.

 

The ADC ( G) said section 144 will be obligatory in examination centers and candidates do not bring any material in written form or any other form like cell phones with them in the examination centers.

 

University of Health Sciences, Lahore

 

Medical College Admission Test (MCAT) is organized every year to get admission in MBBS and BDS programs in any medical or dental college and university. For admission all the students must fulfill the requirements to pass the MCAT test. The Provincial government is responsible to organize the test and after intermediate exams the test is organized. Result awaiting students can also apply for admission in the medical institutes both private and public sector. The test examines the student’s knowledge in physics, chemistry, biology, organic chemistry, verbal reasoning, and analytical writing. In Lahore the MCAT test would be organized by University of Health Sciences UHS.

Girls outperform boys in Punjab Boards 9th Class Result 2014

Lahore, The Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) Lahore has announced the Class 9th result on Thursday for the first annual exams 2014 and overall pass percentage remained 38.10 percent. The result of Lahore Board class 9th annual exams is available at below link.

A total of 240,306 candidates took part in the exams and 91,558 of them successfully passed the exam. In both Science and Art Groups, girls’ students clinched top positions and their percentage was higher than boys.

 

In Gujranwala Board, as many as 87,339 candidates pass the exams by making pass percentage of 36.36 percent. At below link you can also get the 9th class result of all Punjab boards.

A total of 240,088 students appeared and girls outshined the boys by taking top positions. The performance of government schools was better than private candidates.  

 

In the Science Group, a total of 76,397 boys appeared and 25,278 of them declared successful with pass parentage of 33.09 percent. Likewise, as many as 53,158 girls appeared and 26,548 of them could pass the exam with pass parentage of 49.54 percent.

 

In the Humanities Group, as many as 23,052 boys and 33,224 girls took part while the pass percentage remained 22.18 percent and 42.33 percent respectively. Hence once again girls outperformed boys by getting excellent marks.  

 

Controller of Examination Tanvir Ashraf revealed that as many as 240,088 candidates appeared out of which 87,334 could pass the exams by making pass percentage of 36.38%. 

 

For rechecking of papers candidates can apply till Sep 05 and after due date form would not be entertained. 

 

In Bahawalpur board, a total of 31,010 candidates were registered for the exam and 82,718 of them appeared in the examination and 31,010 could pass the exam with a pass percentage of 37.49%.

 

 

In Sahiwal Board, the exams were organized for the students of Okara, Pakpattan and Sahiwal districts in which 73,310 students participated and pass percentage remained 36.82%.

 

Students who have obtained less than 33 percent marks will be considered supply holders and must appear in exam besides the class 10th exams next year.

Karachi Board announces Inter Part 2 Result 2014

Karachi, The Board of Intermediate Education Karachi (BIEK) has announced the HSSC Part 2 result 2014 of Pre-Engineering group. The declaration was made by controller of examination. The detailed result can be seen at below link.

According to result statistics, as many as 28,472 candidates were registered for the exam out of which 28,239 appeared and 15,525 could pass the exam by making 54.98% pass percentage. 

 

 

Overall, Muhammad Sunain Hasan of Government Delhi College clinched first position by getting 992 (90.18 percent) marks out of 1,100. Muhammad Salik Salam of Adamjee Government Science College got second position with 90.09 percent marks. Khuzaima Sohail Salat of the DJ Sind Government Science College and Ayesha Mahboob of BAMM PECHS Government College for Women shared third position by getting 89.09 percent marks.

 

Meanwhile, The Board of Intermediate Education, Karachi (BIEK) after declaration of result canceled the affiliation of four private colleges because of their poor performance could not improve their ‘zero percent’ results from last four years.

 

These institutes are Clifton High School and College for Women, Clifton; Ashrafi Intermediate College, Gulshan-e-Iqbal; Escribir College of Advance Studies, PECHS; and Jinnah Intermediate College for Girls.

 

BIEK will continue to cancel the affiliation of substandard institutions. I advised parents not to get admitted their children in these institutes,” said BIEK chairperson Prof Anwar Ahmed Zai. 

 

The BIEK has also published the results of Higher Secondary Certificate Science General Group Part 2. According to result statistics, as many as 2,066 candidates got registration out of them 2,053 appeared while 1,084 could pass the exam by making 52.80% pass percentage.

 

The board also organized a prize distribution ceremony in North Nazimabad to award prizes to intermediate pre-engineering students.

Express Education and Careers Expo begins in Lahore

Lahore, The Express Education and Careers Expo has been started in the Faletti’s Hotel Lahore on Thursday in which around 70 schools, colleges and universities are taking part. Education counselors and experts are also participating. 

 

 

 For the first time the Express Education and Career Expo has been organized in Lahore while in May such exhibitions were also held in Karachi and Islamabad. The event was opened by Columnist Orya Maqbool Jan. besides the great number of students, the expo was visited by Khaleequr Rahman, Vice Chancellor (VC) of Government College University, Lahore; Sabiha Mansoor, VC of College for Women University and Chairman of Lahore Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education Nasrullah Virk.Such healthy activities encourage the students and based on the educational needs of aspirants.

 

There is a need to arrange such events frequently, Orya Maqbool Jan said.

 

 

 

Ports and Shipping Minister Kamran Michael also visit the event.  The institutes taking part in the expo are Forman Christian College, the University of Gujrat, the Allied Schools, the University of Lahore, the Bahauddin Zakariya University Lahore campus, the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan, the University of Management of Technology, the National Testing Service, the University College of Engineering, Sciences and Technology, the Lahore Garrison University, the Information Technology University, Hajvery University, the Professional Academy of Commerce, Nisa Girls College.Today is the last day of mega event and will continue from 10am to 7pm. Federal Board students to protest against wrong HSSC Result 2014

Islamabad, Recently the Federal Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education FBISE Islamabad has published the intermediate result but most of the students are not satisfied regarding HSSC result. Students of all colleges of Federal board will protest today against the unexpected intermediate results. 

 

 

They are demanding to recheck all the papers and will fight for their right until the management wouldn’t take any action and their demands are not fulfilled because it will directly affect their future. The future on any nation depends on sound education system and students are the main source of country’s development. 

 

Today on August 25 (Monday) at 12pm the protest will be started in front of FBISE office Islamabad. A great number of students will take part in the protest and will continue till the official bodies ensure them to provide justice in terms of rechecking of their papers. 

 

Their demands are to cancel the results and re-checking of papers should be ensured and result should be complied again. 

 

Parents of hundreds of students have also shown concerns regarding results and said that board have not declared the result fairly.  They condemned the lethargic attitude of board and said that the future of millions of students is unexpected because of incorrect result.  

 

 

According to these candidates the online system of Federal board has problems and as a result they have uploaded wrong result.

NTS has announced GAT-G test Schedule

General Assessment Test (GAT-General)

All those candidates who are interested to take admission in the NTS associated universities are required to take Graduate Assessment Test referred as (GAT-General) according to the schedule announced by the NTS before applying for admission in MS or M.Phil. NTS has announced the schedule for GAT-G test 2014 and it will be held on 19^th October 2014 (Sunday) and the students have to submit their application forms together with deposited fee slip till 30^th September 2014 (Tuesday). The application form send after the due date will not accepted. The authorities will post the roll number slips to the candidate’s respective address on 8^th October 2014. GAT-T test 2014 will be held in examination centers of eight major cities. These cities include Faisalabad, Karachi, Islamabad, Lahore, Peshawar, Multan, Rawalpindi and Quetta. Result of GAT-G test 2014 will be announced on 27^th October 2014 and it will be available on official website of NTS whereas the result cards will be dispatched to candidate’s address on 1^st November 2014.

Who can apply For Gat-General:

The Candidates who want to recover their previous GAT-General Score can also apply for GAT.

The applicants will have to qualify other identified criteria of the Universities.

The applicants with a minimum of 16 years of Education are eligible to apply for GAT-General Test.

How to Apply for GAT-G Test:

Online Application Forms and Online deposit slip can be obtained from official website of National Testing Service (NTS). www.nts.org.pk

The candidates have to deposit the test fee through the set deposit slip in the online branches of ABL, UBL, HBL, and MCB.

The applicants are required to send their filled Application form along with the original deposit slip to Headquarters of NTS, 1-E, Street No.46, I-8/2, Islamabad.

Deposited test fee is non-refundable as well as non-transferable

PU ICS PhD/MPhil entry test result, interview schedule

LAHORE (Wednesday, September 3, 2014): The Punjab University Institute of Communication Studies (ICS) will display merit lists of PhD and MPhil entry test results on Monday Sept 8, 2014, whereas interviews of the candidates will begin from Monday, Sept 15, 2014.

The interviews will begin at 10am. The candidates are advised to come on time with their role number slips, NIC and original documents.

The entry test for the PhD Communication Studies was held on August 27 and test for the MPhil programme on August 28 at the ICS.  As many as 49 candidates appeared in PhD program entry test, while 673 candidates appeared in MPhil entry test 298 in MPhil Research Track and 375 in MPhil Professional Track.

To ensure transparency fictitious numbers were issued in place of roll numbers and names of the candidates before evaluation of the papers.

ECAT Result 2014 Announced

ECAT result 2014 has been announced by the official of University of Engineering and Technology (UET) Lahore on 29^th August 2014 at 7:00 Pm. At first, the authorities have said that result will be announced on 31^st August 2014 but they announced the result two days earlier. All students who were appeared in ECAT entry test can check their result on official website of UET by providing their roll numbers and CNIC numbers. ECAT test was held on 24^th August 2014 on Sunday and thousands of candidates appeared in the test and now the ECAT result 2014 has been announced by the officials of University of Engineering and Technology.

This year the average of UET ECAT result 2014 is quite low as compared to the previous year and thus we are expecting for decrease in admission merit of University however, it will only be decrease to almost 1%.

MCAT result 2014 Announced

Today University of Health and Sciences (UHS) Lahore has announced MCAT result 2014. Students can check their results without any difficulty here on this website as this website has uploaded the result. UHS has the mandate to take entry test for giving admission to the aspirants in MBBS and BDS. For the selection of candidates, the university has designed MCAT entry test which is pre-requisite for the admission of the entrants. UHS has designed this MCAT entry test whereas this test is approved by the Pakistan Medical and Dental Association. When MCAT entry test result is announced then the marks of the MCAT entry test are conjoined with the inter marks secured by the candidates and then make the merit of the applicants to get admission in the medical and dental colleges of the province.

The complete schedule of MCAT test 2014 was issued by University and the entry test was held in different colleges as well as in UHS at the same day and at the same time. Approximately 44,293 candidates appeared in MCAT entry test 2014 and they tried to succeed in the entry test deliberate for admission in MBBS and in BDS as well. The candidates found in involving any illegal and corrupt activity like cheating or non-compliance of the rules are disqualified from the test and their name is struck from the list of the applicants.
