PEF extends New School Program for deserving students


Faisalabad, The fifth phase of New School Program has been initiated by Punjab Education Foundation (PEF) and needy students of nine districts would be facilitated by providing quality of education under this scheme, a PEF spokesperson said.  
 

As many as 125 schools are linked under this scheme and these are located in Faisalabad, Bahawalpur, Vehari, Bahawalnagar, Dera Ghazi Khan, Lodhran, Khanewal, Bhakkar and Rahim Yar Khan. More than 11,000 would be facilitated from the extension of this scheme and they could get free education till matriculation. Currently more than 79,000 children from 392 schools all around the province are getting education under this program and the ratio of partner schools would be increased to 517 and the number of students would be increased to 85,000 after the extension.
 
“This program aims to facilitate students belong to remote areas by providing them opportunity of getting free education,” PEF spokesperson said. 
 
Meanwhile, the up-gradation of Government Cooperative Training College will be made by district government. In this way the cost of the project would be Rs175 million and basic facilities would be provided for the construction of college. The building of college would be enhanced under this project. The college would be equipped with all basic amenities. The building of the college would also be upgraded under the project.

BISE Federal Board Islamabad FBISE HSSC Part 1 Result 2014 announced

Islamabad, The Federal Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (FBISE) has published the HSSC Part 1 result 2014 of annual exams. The HSSC Part 1 result has been published today at 10 a.m. The examinations were commenced in April and May and now the board has announced the result. The detailed result is also available at below link.
 
 
A week before the board has also published the HSSC part 2 result 2014 and detailed result and list of top position holders is also available at the website. All the students keep connected for further details. 
 
All the registered students who appeared in the exams can get the HSSC Part 1 result by sending SMS on 5050 with the format: FB(Space)[Roll Number] or through Telephone Exchange by calling (051) 925066669.
 
The board has dispatched the result cards to candidates at their respective addresses. Ilmkidunya congratulates all the successful candidates while those who could not pass can avail another chance and soon the board will issue the supplementary exams schedule for HSSC Part 1 students.

BISE Federal Board is the commanding body for the commencement of secondary and higher secondary exams in the region and there are a great number of affiliated schools and colleges.  The affiliated areas include schools and colleges of cantonments and garrisons, Islamabad Capital Territory, Federally Administered Northern Areas (FANA). Medical Entrance Test MCAT to be organized on Aug 31


Rawalpindi, The MCAT entrance test for admission to medical and dental institutions is scheduled to be organized on August 31. Soon the MCAT Date Sheet 2014 will be declared and get all the details at ilmkidunya. 
 
At District Coordinator Officer (DCO) office, a meeting was organized to settle all the arrangements for entrance test.

The meeting was chaired by ADC (G) Imran Qureshi and some renowned personalities to manage the arrangements of  the Medical entrance test. The meeting was attended by Sr. Administrator Officer Aqil Ahmed Khan, City Traffic Officer (CTO) Shoaib Khurram, Secretary Regional Transport Authority (RTA) Awais Tarar, Executive District Officer (EDO) Health Zafar Iqbal Gondal, Director Colleges Humayun Iqbal, Resident Director Rawalpindi Arts Council Waqar Ahmed, EDO Education Qazi Zahoor- ul- Haq and other concerned officers.

In the meeting the arrangements of traffic security parking and other related measures were discussed. Over 6500 candidates are expected to appear in the entry test.
 
The ADC ( G) said section 144 will be obligatory in examination centers and candidates do not bring any material in written form or any other form like cell phones with them in the examination centers.

Medical College Admission Test (MCAT) is organized every year to get admission in MBBS and BDS programs in any medical or dental college and university. For admission all the students must fulfill the requirements to pass the MCAT test. The Provincial government is responsible to organize the test and after intermediate exams the test is organized. Result awaiting students can also apply for admission in the medical institutes both private and public sector. The test examines the student’s knowledge in physics, chemistry, biology, organic chemistry, verbal reasoning, and analytical writing. In Lahore the MCAT test would be organized by University of Health Sciences UHS.

Girls outperform boys in Punjab Boards 9th Class Result 2014


Lahore, The Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) Lahore has announced the Class 9th result on Thursday for the first annual exams 2014 and overall pass percentage remained 38.10 percent. The result of Lahore Board class 9th annual exams is available at below link.
 
 
A total of 240,306 candidates took part in the exams and 91,558 of them successfully passed the exam. In both Science and Art Groups, girls’ students clinched top positions and their percentage was higher than boys.

In Gujranwala Board, as many as 87,339 candidates pass the exams by making pass percentage of 36.36 percent. At below link you can also get the 9th class result of all Punjab boards.
 
 
A total of 240,088 students appeared and girls outshined the boys by taking top positions. The performance of government schools was better than private candidates.  
 
In the Science Group, a total of 76,397 boys appeared and 25,278 of them declared successful with pass parentage of 33.09 percent. Likewise, as many as 53,158 girls appeared and 26,548 of them could pass the exam with pass parentage of 49.54 percent.
 
In the Humanities Group, as many as 23,052 boys and 33,224 girls took part while the pass percentage remained 22.18 percent and 42.33 percent respectively. Hence once again girls outperformed boys by getting excellent marks.  
 
Controller of Examination Tanvir Ashraf revealed that as many as 240,088 candidates appeared out of which 87,334 could pass the exams by making pass percentage of 36.38%. 
 
For rechecking of papers candidates can apply till Sep 05 and after due date form would not be entertained. 
 
In Bahawalpur board, a total of 31,010 candidates were registered for the exam and 82,718 of them appeared in the examination and 31,010 could pass the exam with a pass percentage of 37.49%.

In Sahiwal Board, the exams were organized for the students of Okara, Pakpattan and Sahiwal districts in which 73,310 students participated and pass percentage remained 36.82%.
 
Students who have obtained less than 33 percent marks will be considered supply holders and must appear in exam besides the class 10th exams next year.

Karachi Board announces Inter Part 2 Result 2014


Karachi, The Board of Intermediate Education Karachi (BIEK) has announced the HSSC Part 2 result 2014 of Pre-Engineering group. The declaration was made by controller of examination. The detailed result can be seen at below link.
 
 
According to result statistics, as many as 28,472 candidates were registered for the exam out of which 28,239 appeared and 15,525 could pass the exam by making 54.98% pass percentage.

Overall, Muhammad Sunain Hasan of Government Delhi College clinched first position by getting 992 (90.18 percent) marks out of 1,100. Muhammad Salik Salam of Adamjee Government Science College got second position with 90.09 percent marks. Khuzaima Sohail Salat of the DJ Sind Government Science College and Ayesha Mahboob of BAMM PECHS Government College for Women shared third position by getting 89.09 percent marks.

Meanwhile, The Board of Intermediate Education, Karachi (BIEK) after declaration of result canceled the affiliation of four private colleges because of their poor performance could not improve their ‘zero percent’ results from last four years.
 
These institutes are Clifton High School and College for Women, Clifton; Ashrafi Intermediate College, Gulshan-e-Iqbal; Escribir College of Advance Studies, PECHS; and Jinnah Intermediate College for Girls.
 
BIEK will continue to cancel the affiliation of substandard institutions. I advised parents not to get admitted their children in these institutes,” said BIEK chairperson Prof Anwar Ahmed Zai. 
 
The BIEK has also published the results of Higher Secondary Certificate Science General Group Part 2. According to result statistics, as many as 2,066 candidates got registration out of them 2,053 appeared while 1,084 could pass the exam by making 52.80% pass percentage.
 
The board also organized a prize distribution ceremony in North Nazimabad to award prizes to intermediate pre-engineering students.

Express Education and Careers Expo begins in Lahore


Lahore, The Express Education and Careers Expo has been started in the Faletti’s Hotel Lahore on Thursday in which around 70 schools, colleges and universities are taking part. Education counselors and experts are also participating.

 For the first time the Express Education and Career Expo has been organized in Lahore while in May such exhibitions were also held in Karachi and Islamabad. The event was opened by Columnist Orya Maqbool Jan. besides the great number of students, the expo was visited by Khaleequr Rahman, Vice Chancellor (VC) of Government College University, Lahore; Sabiha Mansoor, VC of College for Women University and Chairman of Lahore Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education Nasrullah Virk.Such healthy activities encourage the students and based on the educational needs of aspirants.
 
There is a need to arrange such events frequently, Orya Maqbool Jan said.
